Abstract: The successful creation of "Sheep Dolly" has opened a brand new door to reproductive research. Medical technology has crossed the boundary which was deemed as impossible by our forefathers. The mystery of life is about to be discovered. Is there any thing in our life which we are not supposed to do and know ﹖ Or we have the right to disclose whatever human technology is capable of doing ﹖ Technology itself has no feeling nor possessing any sense of value. It is totally neutral and manipulated by humankind, especially scientists. In an all-out research to find ways to cure human diseases and to discover the mystery of life, there are bioethical principles such as sanctity of life and maleficience which we must always bear in mind. Bioethicists are divided in their opinions in terms of "how far we can go". Some insist tht we have the right to do whatever technology enables us to discover, while others ask the question of what is a normal human. Scientists cannot be value free. Ethical principles cannot be sacrificed in the name of scientific breakthrough. But on the other hand, scientists' right to know must also be protected. Facing an immense potential of medical technology, the principle of sanctity of life must once again be emphasized.
