摘要: The question of "Is bioethics teachable" has been raised from times to times. This paper is the result of a survey that looks into the effectiveness of bioethics teaching at six medical institutes in Taiwan. The survey was done twice to the same group of people first at the beginning and later the end of the class of the school term in which bioethics was given with the exactly the same questionnaires. The purpose of the study was to find out whether or not the teaching made any difference in students' understanding and attitudes toward the bioethical dilemmas. The finding showed that students have indeed changed their view but could this be interpreted as the effectiveness of bioethical instructions if bioethics is regarded as an academic discipline like any other subject such as social psychology, medical sociology… then we can give it a positive answer. Bioethics, however is more than awareness or knowledge... Thus, the question remains: Is medical ethics teachable
