本研究計畫的目的在於利用潛在成長曲線模型，針對台灣地區中老年人進行三年五波的幸福感及相關變項之調查資料進行分析。主要的理論及相關文獻來源是根據 Diener、Ryff 等人從事主觀幸福感及心理幸福感的研究，同時也著眼於台灣已進入高齡化社會，老年人口(65 歲以上)已超過10%，不到15 年後將達20%，這期間也正巧是二次世界大戰後嬰兒潮近入中老年階段的開始，因此本研究也對中年人(50 歲~65 歲) 的幸福感進行探討，並與老年人進行相互的比較，以利未來相關政策及福利措施及早因應。調查方式主要是採用訪談法，以獲得長期且穩定的有效中老年人幸福感及相關變項資料，這有助於潛在成長曲線模型的資料分析。由於過去的大部分研究結果都奠基在橫斷面的資料，使研究的結果產生不一致且有因果路徑的質疑，因此本研究將採用長期追蹤方式來對一群大樣本的中老年人進行資料的收集，使分析後的結果較能進行因果關係的推論，並澄清許多過去研究不一致的現象，對學術及實務有相當大的貢獻。研究進程規劃如下：第一年預期完成Ryff 心理幸福感量表的中文化及中老年人第一波的訪談調查。第二年預期完成第二波及第三波中老年人的訪談調查工作。第三年預期完成第四波及第五波中老年人的訪談調查工作。
The aim of this study is to make use of latent growth curve model analyzing survey data based on a three-years and five-waves panel study about well-being and relevant variables of the middle and elderly people in Taiwan. The theory and related literature sources are according to much subjective well-being research from Diener et al’s. and psychological well-being research from Ryff et al’s. Besides, Taiwan has been an ageing society with people over 65 years old beyond 10%, and it will approach 20% in less than 15 years later, during which happens to the baby boom of the World War II entering into their middle and elderly life stages. Hence, this study will also explore well-being of the middle people (from 50~65 years old) and compare with that of the elderly based on which to make early preparation of relevant policies and welfare settings. The survey method will adopt interviews to effectively collect longitudinal and stable well-being and relevant variables data from the middle and elderly people, which is helpful for applying the latent growth curve model. Due to most past research results based on cross-section data, making inconsistent results and questionable causality paths, thus this study will adopt a panel study to collect data from a large amount of middle and elderly sample, based on which to make more reliable causal inferences and clarify past inconsistent research outcomes. This will contribute significantly to academics and practical works. The research progress is planned as follows: in the first year, translating Ryff’s psychological well being scale into Chinese version and completing the first wave interview of the middle and elderly people. In the second year, completing the second- and third-wave interviews. In the third year, completing the fourth- and fifth-wave interviews.
